The FDA last year updated the clopidogrel (Plavix®) label to explain the importance of CYP2C19 genetics and may relabel it again to recommend DNA testing for all Plavix patients.

In conjunction with this relabeling and a heightened interest in Plavix-related CYP2C19 testing, ParagonDx has developed three new CYP2C19 reference controls. These new controls include the clinically relevant *17 allele, which is associated with extensive metabolizers. These three controls bring the number of our CYP2C19 controls to six, doubling the number previously offered.

Our new CYP2C19 controls are priced at $50 per vial. Each vial contains 200µL with a concentration of 50 nanograms of DNA per micro-liter (µL), equaling 10,000ng (10 micrograms) of DNA. Since ParagonDx reference controls are human genomic DNA, they are compatible with a wide variety of platforms and assays.

We have modified our CYP2C19 panel, adding the three new controls. By ordering the one panel, you will be able to test for wildtype, heterozygotes and homozygous mutants for CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 and CYP2C19*17. The price of this panel, which also includes a "No Template" control, is $300. Each of the six controls contains 200µL at 50ng/µL of DNA.
